Why should I donate if we have loans?
The financial model and banking requirements making Freemasons Hall viable calls for $500,000 in donations. The loans give us the cash to start the project but they must be replaced by donations.
How close are we to completion?
Freemasons Hall will be built and it will be completed by the fall of 2007 to meet the commitments of the tenant Lodges. Drawings are in the final stages and very shortly a public tender call will be published.
I’m not in St. John’s so why should I pay?
Freemasons Hall will be the Provincial Headquarters for all Masons of Newfoundland and Labrador and will be owned by the Masons of Newfoundland and Labrador. With this new building there will be offices for Grand Lodge and District Grand Lodge as well as a Library and archives. In addition the building will contain a seniors resource centre with an exercise/activity room and computer room to the benefit of seniors at Masonic Park
Should I donate if my lodge has already contributed to the project?
The fundraising target of $500,000 is made up of Lodge and member donations. Every mason should donate an amount they can afford
Is this a charitable donation?
Yes, all donations will be acknowledged with a charitable tax receipt.
Can I give an “in-kind” donation?
A number of Brethren have expressed an interest in giving an “in kind” donation. That is possible and for more information contact Harry Vokey 689-7264
